# Agent Instructions — Cotton Traders
This document describes how AI agents can interact with Cotton Traders' online store at https://www.cottontraders.com.
> Cotton Traders is a UK clothing retailer selling women's and men's casual clothing, footwear, accessories and homeware, with a focus on comfort, quality and an inclusive size range (women's 8-26, men's XS-5XL). Founded by England rugby internationals Fran Cotton and Steve Smith, the brand sells online, through stores across the UK, and by mail order. UK customer line: 0844 844 1111.
Cotton Traders is a live transactional store with a cart, customer accounts and checkout. However, it is built on Salesforce Commerce Cloud and does not expose a public agent-commerce protocol: there is no UCP endpoint, and it is not a Shopify store, so the Shop skill does not apply.
## For Personal Shopping Assistants and Agents Acting On Behalf of a User
If you are helping a user shop, you can browse the catalogue, search, compare products, check availability and price, and help the user assemble a selection. You cannot complete a purchase programmatically: there is no public commerce API or agent checkout. Hand off to the user to complete checkout in the browser.
Do not attempt to complete a transaction, submit payment, or submit account or personal data on a user's behalf. Checkout, cart, account and wishlist areas require authentication and are out of scope for automated access.
## Commerce and Checkout
- **No agent-commerce protocol.** There is no UCP discovery endpoint and no MCP endpoint. Do not attempt to call `/.well-known/ucp` or similar; it does not exist on this store.
- **No Shop skill.** The store is not on Shopify, so shop.app skills and Shop Pay do not apply.
- **Checkout is human-completed.** Purchases are finished by the user through the standard website checkout. An agent should assist up to the bag stage and then hand control back to the user.
- **Buyer approval is required for any purchase**, completed by the user themselves at the moment of payment.
- **Disallowed areas.** The store's robots.txt disallows automated access to account, checkout, shipping, billing, confirmation, cart, orders, wallet and wishlist paths, plus internal search (`search_*`) and most refinement filters. Respect these.
## Read-Only Browsing (No Authentication Required)
For agents that only need to read store data without transacting:

- Department pages: `GET /women/`, `/men/`, `/lingerie/`, `/unisex/`, `/footwear/`, `/accessories/`, `/home/`
- New arrivals: `GET /new-in/`
- Clearance: `GET /clearance/`
- Licensed range: `GET /guinness/`
- Product pages: standard product URLs served as server-rendered HTML with Product and BreadcrumbList structured data.
- Search: `GET /search?q={query}`
- Allowed refinement filters only: `footwearSize`, `sleeveLength`, `clothingSize`. Other filter parameters (`pmin`, `pmax`, `srule`, most `prefn1` values, `bvstate`, `quickprodid`) are disallowed in robots.txt.
